A bounty paid for someone dying from COVID escalates the assurance that they all die from COVID.

We're "conspiracy theorists" for saying so though.

This is the problem with government interventions. There was most likely benevolent intentions attached with those incentives. This was a "deadly novel pathogen" and it must be investigated and treatments must be discovered and therefore funds and money as a means for finding those treatments must be found. And low and behold, here come all the patients. Why, it's an Easter Miracle!

I miss George Carlin so much. He was a riot!

My thinking is if someone wants to redefine words and live in their own little world, that's fine by me as long as they keep it to themselves. The problem is they are not keeping to themselves. They want me to play along and that won't happen.

This is absolutely dead on accurate: "Think about the implications on communication. No matter what you say to a person “living their truth” they will hear what they want to hear." Yep. Yep a thousand times.

I miss Carlin as well. Back in the early 2000's I thought he got bitter and abrasive, but now I realize he was like the canary in the coal mine. He could see where this was leading, and in addition to comedy, getting us to face that this was not a road we did not want to stay on. I used to joke that if we only had one year of inclusion where we got all the "firsts" out of the way we could be done with this, except it doesn't work like that.

I completely agree with you. It's one thing to "live my truth," it's another to demand others participate. I don't even demand people live my reality.

I don't know what the answer is to those "living their truth." They probably walked away from their interaction with me thinking that I am "fixed" in my thinking. But imagine a world where all the words we say have different meanings to each person we come in contact with. I believe this to already be true, our experience and use of words does vary, but the definitions at least are supposed to remain the same.

It has be thinking of creating a cartoon with a caption (fill in caption to whatever punch line is aligned with your "truth.")

Side anecdote: When I went to CVS pharmacy on a regular basis, there always appeared to be a cashier and a customer pouring over the coupon pages like they were the Dead Sea scrolls which meant there were lines many times to check out. My idea was there should be an inconvenience lane for all thoe that wanted to do these time consuming tasks and holding up the line for those who just wanted to buy their diapers or bottle of Nyquil and blow that taco stand.

Yes, CVS is most certainly famous for their coupons that print on mile long receipts! My dad brings home the equivalent of the yellow pages every time he goes there.

I really appreciate your writing and your response here. I think Carlin knew where things were going, too. I wish I would have sooner.

I appreciate your writing as well, and we all need help in dealing with this insanity. And this is an insanity we are all facing.

I hope, for your sake, there won't be more Tales from the Pharmacy, but if there are, at least we will derive some entertainment and value from them.
