Teh Science™ is Retiring
Last year, after an interview where Fauci asserted “I am the Science” I created this cartoon “meme” of a mash up between Fauci and Walter White. Other people were thinking of that pinnacle scene in the Star Wars prequel of Episode 3 where Palpatine asserts “I am the Senate.”
I, on the other hand, thought this one was more appropriate. The hubris with which Fauci speaks is ridiculous, but he isn’t necessarily wrong. For two and a half years we were abused by “the science,” and for good or bad, he was the voice of that abuse. I am not saying Fauci is the science, I am saying that for good or ill, Fauci threw his weight around and his recommendation carried a lot of gravitas in terms of policy.
And the abuse continues.
Just a few weeks ago I saw an article stating that U.S. Forces are grounded that were unvaccinated despite a court order. This week the CDC voted unanimously to include the Covid-19 vaccine to it’s children vaccination recommendation schedule. Please check the data on how Covid adversely affects children and get back to me about how this should be a recommended part of vaccination for school age children. There are more serious details concerning this on Alex Berenson’s Substack and others, so I defer to them if you want to catch up on the specifics.
In the case of the military, I am ambivalent about this as maybe it’s a good thing for our military to be grounded as we won’t be deployed in areas of the world that we might cause more harm than good. But I imagine if there was a real threat out there, the vaccination status of the pilots would not be called into question, or there would be a waver. I doubt if the events in the Ukraine continue to escalate we will care much about the vaccination status of those in service. It will quickly become an “all hands on deck” situation.
I also admire the soldiers who stand their ground against an experimental vaccine that regardless of its status, is leaky and does not do what it says it was going to do. The only reason why these men are grounded is because they didn’t comply to the “because I said so.” reasoning for the order. It is a good thing at times for a soldier to question orders, lest we find ourselves repeating history.

Imagine the hubris if any of us unwashed masses made proclamations like this, but we do see narcissistic behavior all around us. I think of TSA’s and people involved in the area of security. They have a little power and over time they develop an overestimated sense of self-importance. They love to tell the public, the unwashed masses, what they can’t do, and what they are restricted from doing.
It all works to their benefit until they are put into the same situation, then they are the first to complain. These people are the “tip of the spear” or the first glimpse you get of as the face of the company. They should make it a good face, shouldn’t they? and yet far too often, because they have so little invested in the company itself, they find themselves actually reducing interactivity with a business due to dysfunctional nature of their gate-keeping.
Watching Fauci face off against Rand Paul underlines multiple times why he needs to be out of power. All the obfuscating, and fomenting confusion proves that he knows what he did was wrong, and yet he felt it incumbent to lie to the American people WHO HE SHOULD BE SERVING.
What becomes obvious is that his policy “recommendations” never took in the risk/reward aspect of those decisions. Lockdowns, closures, vaccination mandates, mask mandates were all made without proper evidence to back them up. In fact, in various videos, he actually takes the opposite stance regarding masking, natural immunity, and the need for a vaccine.

For decades, studies on masking were fairly abundant and spoke to the effectiveness of a mask, they weren’t. It doesn’t take a degree in epidemiology to figure out why. You can see it in all the documentation available and video of all the years before during cold and flu seasons where we collectively wore masks (we did not).
And yet Anthony “I am the Science” Fauci flip flopped on the whole mask issue. And he continues to waver and change his messaging. It is my hope that he will be held to account after his “retirement” from his current position.
